This is from a research paper that indicates that a reduction in glucose in the CNS, which can be achieved, through following the ketogenic diet, triggers a secretion of oxytocin. Oxytocin is a hormone secreted from the pituitary gland, and has been referred to as the "cuddle" or "love" hormone because it is released when people bond socially or snuggle up.
