Increasing evidence from cross-sectional human studies demonstrated that changes in the diversity and relative abundances of the microbiota and microbial metabolites are related to neurologic and psychiatric disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorders, epilepsy, and major depressive disorder, and so on.
